How to Use Reliance JIO Sim Card In 3G Smartphone [No Root Required]

As the Reliance launched jio service, the communication in India has changed drastically. The people, who were using 2G directly got the chance to avail 4G service in very affordable price (Reliance jio is free but they have to purchase 4G enabled device). Due to good network, speed and price point of view, jio got a big love from people and for some days people stood in the queue to get jio. As it supports a number of brands from top-notch mobiles to the entry-level smartphones, the popularity of jio is still increasing.

All people want high-speed internet service in low price. Before the arrival of jio, the cost for 1GB of 4G data was around 250 bucks but jio launched with an introductory offer with free data and voice. Obviously, it reached to the top in very short period of time. But today most of the people are using the 3G smartphones too and they want to avail jio service on their mobile. As jio is launched on pure 4G platform so using jio Sim card directly in 3G phones is worthless. If you also have a 3G smartphone then there is no need to worry about it because I'm going to explain a trick to get rid of this problem.

How to use Reliance jio in 3G smartphone:

Before use Reliance jio on your mobile, you must have one activated jio Sim card and you have to modify some internet setting from your smartphone to get jio service.

Normally, without the help of any app, you can do it with your itself by selecting Reliance 4G network in networks. The simple trick about the phone works better only with an android lollipop version and above.

Method 1:

Using phone dialer:

This method works with almost every mobile and quite easy, you can try it at first.

· Open your phone dialer and type *#*#4636#*#*

· It will redirect you to the Testing page

· Go to Testing > Phone Info > Set preferred network type > select LTE/ GSM auto (PRL)

· Turn off your mobile put activated jio Sim card in the slot 1 and turn on the mobile

· Go to Settings and find your network is whether on LTE or not. If not, repeat the process with jio Sim card inserted in the mobile

· Enjoy unlimited and fast internet

Method 2:

Using MTK Engineering Mode App:

· Download and install MTK Engineering App from the Google Play Store

· Open the app and go to MTK Settings >Preferred Networks

· Select LTE/WCDMA/GSM from the list and save the settings

· Turn off your device and insert activated jio Sim card in the slot 1

· Now, turn on your device and you will see jio is working for your mobile phone

· Enjoy unlimited and fast internet 

Limitations:

· Reliance jio Sim card needs its 4G network service.

· VoLTE means Voice Over Long Term Evolution (HD voice calling over 4G network) is not available

· No original high speed as 4G mobiles as these tips don't convert your 3G mobile device as 4G but they make them able to get network service only 

These methods will help you to use jio Sim card in your android smartphone and won't harm your device. You can revert above settings any time if you won't like them.
