                         Having a smartphone or any electronic gadget is the common thing in today's life. Because when we wake up early in morning to going for sleep, we keep these things with us. We think these gadgets are part of our life and it's true. So we always try to keep them safe and when single of them get even scratched we really worry about it. Or simply you just think that your smartphone have fallen from your hand and its screen got damaged or broken into pieces. You will definitely feel bad or even someone will cry who loves his mobile device the most. Accidents may happen anywhere and anytime though we have taken care. In such conditions making our mobile device stronger and break-resistant to accidental damage must our priority, so that we don't have to bear such things in near future which can lead us to pay hard earned money to repair it. Fighting such conditions we always prefer a scratch resistant or impact resistant glass.

                We have discussed all general about the need of screen protection. But how actually it works, which companies make these glass panels & paying them for getting impact resistant glass is really worthy? is still matter of research and deep study. I am going to reveal some of  the information about this topic. A couple of decades ago personal computers weren't portable and mobile devices neither equipped with touch-screen nor the latest technology sandwiched between them, but later with time elapsed technology has improved and devices have become portable and carry screen touch user interface over them. In market Corning is more popular, provides glass protection solutions like 'Gorilla' & 'IOX-FS' and AGC provides 'Dragontrail' while Nippon Electric Glass (Japan) is ready with its 'CX-1' & 'Dinorex and Schott (Germany) stands with its 'Xensation' are two major rivals. Corning has applied a unique expertise in specialty glasses, ceramics, and optical technology by developing enormous products and processes over sixteen decades to transform many lives. Corning is leading in the market of  glass protection solutions and it has a brand known as Gorilla glass for the ultimate combination of protection and smooth performance. It provides the wide range of products in screen protection solutions for mobiles, tablets, portable mp3 players, screen panels of television & computers and wearable gears. Same time AGC rose with its Dragontrail and Gorilla not remained longer alone. Dragontrail also available on mobiles and tablets for screen protection.

• GORILLA GLASS:

                 The name itself shows the properties of this glass made tough like the gorilla to survive in the most situations. Corning is manufacturing glasses and ceramics for over 165 years. Gorilla glass is an alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass manufactured by Corning In. (USA). Corning has not got fame like nowadays till Apple hasn't started to use its first generation Gorilla glass in the screen of original iPhone that debuted in 2007. Thereafter Gorilla glass 2 became available in 2012 and offered 20% thinner profile to its predecessor. In early of 2013 Corning announced its Gorilla glass 3 and till now it is serving as glass protection solution for billion of mobile devices worldwide. Corning developed the new level of toughened glass as Gorilla glass 3 with Native Damage Resistance (NDR) is more durable, tougher and even three times more damage resistant than Gorilla glass 2. NDR improved by chemical strengthening (i.e. formulating atomic configuration to make it durable) enables it to resist deep scratches on it that's the cause of glass to shatter.

              Currently, Gorilla glass 4 is dominating minds of people having improved properties than its predecessors. Intensive research by Corning has made it really tough against drops and this performance makes it withstand against its competitive glass designs by providing up to 2X better in drop protection. It will surely provide its best on rough roads, sidewalks and in parking lots too. Corning has provided the world with SR+ glass for ultimate scratch resistance, optical clarity & toughness can be used in wearable gears with 70% better damage resistance against impact. Same time Gorilla glass NBT specially designed for touch notebooks provides 8X-10X better scratch resistance and reduces the chance of damage due to shocks than conventional fragile Soda lime glass displays.                     Corning has continued its research and invented the first ever Antimicrobial glass protection by formulating silver ions to Gorilla glass to make it safe against bacteria. Research has proven over 90% reduction of bacteria on Antimicrobial covering glass than conventional Soda lime glass. It's not all over, Corning launched its flagship i.e. Gorilla glass 5 on July 20,2016 that raises the bar of protection against drops higher than ever,surviving in 80% of the time on hard & rough surfaces from shoulder height (1.6 M). It's 4X better protection in drop failure than its competitive glass solutions even ensuring the scratch resistance, optical clarity and touch sensitivity for which it is famous for and we can see it on the top of Galaxy Note 7 phablet that is again latest model from Samsung launched in September 2016.

• DRAGONTRAIL:

                

                  AGC Dragontrail is the answer to Corning's Gorilla glass. Both are similar in many aspects like scratch & damage resistance, hardness, thinness and touch sensitivity. Having such similarities they both are quite different in compositions and manufacturing process. It is also an alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass and 6 times stronger than conventional Soda lime glass. The first version created in 2011 and followed by Dragontrail X in 2014 that possesses the highest compressive stress around 1000 Mpa with equates to 30% increase in compressive stress of its predecessor and boasts to 8X stronger than normal Soda lime glass. 

                  These two are available for mobile screen solutions providing scratch resistance and extremely high edge protection as well as surface protection. It is not popular as Gorilla glass brand but being cheaper in price made it withstand in the market. Major smartphone manufacturers are also preferring Dragontrail and Dragontrail X on the top of their electronic devices. Sony, Lenovo, Xiaomi are some of them using this glass protection solution.

                 AGC provides display solutions like Self-Adhesive glass (SAG) used as a cover glass and widely used in Display signages, wide LCD television screens and LCD monitors. AGC have developed a resin used on cover glass for direct bonding and absorbs air bubbles automatically during bonding process without creating a void at normal temperature and pressure. Due to such technology AGC is spreading its feet across the globe.
